In an interview, Ved Mehta said that during life’s struggles, it is possible to become lost in a crowd if one compromises too much given difficult circumstances. “I did not compromise," he said. "I worked extremely hard to make a difficult journey and reach my destination.” He was at Punjab University this Wednesday. VC Professor Sobti reviewed his two books Daddyji and Mammyji. His wife Lynn was also present at this function, which was organized by Punjab University Teacher’s Association and Publisher Roli Books.
Mehta gave a lecture on “How I ended up a writer” before the review. He explained many aspects of his life. He explained how he achieved success in spite of being blind. He told the story of overcoming challenges of language, becoming a writer and earning fame among writers of English. Mehta said, “Hard work is the only principle to succeed in life.”
Punjab University Teacher’s Association president, Professor Manjit Singh, and general secretary, Dr. Akshay Kumar, said that more seminars and lectures will be arranged throughout the year.
